More Soleil videos and a cool overlay of Summit and Indy

We were at an AKC trial this past weekend. Summit had great runs and a 50 percent Q rate. We had a bar in jumpers both days. He won standard on Sunday with a 32 second run!

Soleil had fun at the trial and got to play with her Sister in the x-pen both days. This morning we got together with Mary and 4 1/2 month old Tangle (a Cedar Border Collie puppy related to Summit) at Mary's house to train and let the puppies play. I have a video of Soleil on the teeter which I'll upload later. For now, here are a few fun videos of 25 lb. Tangle vs. 11 lb. Soleil.

Wheeeeeee! Notice Soleil looks back to see how close Tangle is.

Here is a cool overlay of Indy (Contact Point Indy Go Girl) and Summit. Indy and Summit were less than a 10th of a second apart (The time was 21.__ something seconds). Don and I found it interesting that although our handling paths were different, our dogs' paths were almost exactly the same. Each dog dropped a bar (Summit dropped the triple and Indy dropped a single) but would have take First (Summit) and Second (Indy).

Soleil is so cute!

The overlay is really interesting to watch. I almost couldn't tell who's dog was who's sometimes.

Soleil is bold, brave, fast and cute! She is not intimidated by Tango's size at all. And boy can she run! Wow!

Cool overlay!

What a great overlay- amazing what technology can do these days! I love watching both you and Don run, so it's interesting to compare your handling right on top of one another. You both have those crazy fast BCs that are obviously a great match in the ring :)

I know Indy, another CPBC. Soleil knows what to do with border collies doesnt she, she looks so playful and so fast! Very cute! The overlay is very interesting...very cool.

Soieil is just a fast little thing!
I love the overlay. How do you get that done?

Its hard for me to tell who is who. But it looks like you turned well ahead of time but Summit is way wide on the 2nd jump after the weaves. Why do you think that happened. (I could be wrong, maybe it was his dog). Diana

Diana,
Both dogs did not take the second jump after the weaves with collection. It may be difficult to see in the video but downstream there was a box and the handler needed to get ahead of the dog in order to set the correct line of motion. If handler was behind (in order to manage a tight turn over the second jump after the weavepoles), the dog stayed on a line that lead to a wrong course. You'll notice that I left Summit in the weaves and could have easily placed myself on the landing side of the second jump in order to force a tight turn but I chose not too in order to be ahead of him on the next sequence.

Love the videos of Soleil playing with Tango. Isn't she fast? She's so cute and she didn't mind how big Tango is or she didn't have time to think about the size of Tango : ) She's a little brave girl!

Ok thanks. Its hard to see with both handlers and dogs beinging in the picture at the same time. I hope I wasnt offensive. I cant keep my dog on course so I would never judge you. I just like to learn and love the way you run your dogs. Diana

IDiana, I don't mind the questions at all! Your question made me go back and look at the video and think how could I have tightened up that turn and still gotten downstream.
