Soleil - 21 weeks old

Soleil is 21 weeks old and at the trial last weekend, she measured 13 inches. This puts her potentially at a mature height of 14" or slightly taller (so I've been told by several experienced Sheltie folks). Not the 15 1/2 inches I was hoping for but that is ok.

Here are a couple of short videos of the Little Miss Sunshine "Soleil"

Soleil - you are so cute! You're all legs at the moment and that makes you look tall! I was never measured as a puppy but ended up right at 14". A relief because I am too small to jump 16" all the time. I hope if you are not going to get up to 15" that you at least make the cut-off to jump 12".

Your feet slip out from under you in a sit just like mine!

I looked up Miley's growth chart. I measured her myself so it may not be perfect. At 20 weeks she was 12 inches. She ended up under 14 inches. The measurements she has gotten are 13 3/4 with the AKC and USDAA. Diana

Soleil it seems like your legs have been sprouting lately! That is so funny, all my dogs end up being right on the height line...Soleil just looks so attentive and so smart, you guys just seem like you are doing sooo marvelously together! Thanks so much for your input about choosing contacts! Sooooo Helpful! I really appreciate it!---Kathy

Soleil, you're so cute! I think it's just your shooting up time at the moment but please don't shoot up too much though. I remember when Eva was at her 20 -24 weeks, she was kind of a bit too tall and thin but it turned out she's alright for her height at last.

She is adorable! She looks really tall, but I am guessing she is just going through that awkward "all legs" phase.

Soleil is such a cutie- I bet she'll be quite the superstar someday.

I really enjoy reading your blog and seeing you run your dogs at trials (that sounds a little creepy!) I love your handling style and how calm and cool you are on course- definitely something that I look up to :)

Hi Morganne-
I will definitely introduce myself at the next trial! I'm not sure what Kona is- as she's not mine. Kona actually lives in LA- I was just comparing how the girls look so much alike in that last post. They are very similar! We're not really sure what Riley is, but our best guess is heeler and pit? She's our little mystery dog- maybe you have a guess? All I know is that she's an amazing dog that loves her job and has been a very patient first agility dog :) Sometimes I feel bad for her with her silly handler, but we'll get there- slowly but surely!
